This project was created for the Illustrada 2024 illustration competition, where I was selected as one of the ten finalists. The challenge was to visually interpret the story Sotto la pelliccia, written by Letizia Iannaccone, by developing the complete storyboard and sketches for the entire book, along with two finalized double-page illustrations in color.
I approached this project by exploring the contrast between fear and warmth, darkness and light, aiming to bring the monsters of the story to life in an expressive and engaging way. My illustrations blend texture and color to capture both the eerie and playful tones of the narrative, revealing what truly lies beneath the fur.
Being among the finalists of this competition was an exciting achievement, and I am thrilled to have had the opportunity to contribute my artistic vision to this story.
